Ken Koo
CO Founder and Partner
Ken practises in all aspects of property, commercial and private client work. He has also developed a relationship property practice and is involved in all steps of the process from contracting out agreements, division of relationship property agreements and issuing and bringing relationship property proceedings to trial. Ken is multilingual, he is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien and Bahasa Malaysia /Indonesia.
Ken is a law graduate of University of Auckland. He was admitted to the bar in New Zealand in 1985. Ken worked in the UK from 1987 to 1989. In 1995, Ken formed a law firm in Auckland and remained in partnership until 2001. He has a great insight of Asia and Asian business cultures. Between 2001 and 2015, Ken worked in the private equity/capital raising market in Malaysia, Singapore and China.
In his spare time, he loves pottering around his garden, working out, learning the art of playing bridge, and refining his shadow boxing techniques.

Edwin Telle
CO Founder and Partner
Edwin is the firm’s litigation partner and environmental officer. He has been a qualified lawyer practicing in the area of litigation since 1996. During that period he spent about three years working as a solicitor in the commercial litigation team for one of the Magic Circle firms in London. Whilst in the UK he was admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of England and Wales.
Edwin has appeared in a number of jurisdictions in New Zealand including the Court of Appeal, High Court, District Court (for civil, criminal and traffic matters), Family Court, Employment Court, Employment Relations Authority, Sports Tribunal, Immigration and Protection Tribunal and before Liquor Licensing Review Panel. Edwin is a member of the Law Association of New Zealand Committee for Civil Litigation.
Edwin’s primary focus during his years in practice has been towards commercial and civil litigation and mostly in the area of company and contractual disputes, insurance disputes and building disputes. His practice has diversified to include other areas of law including employment, relationship property, trust disputes and more. Edwin is passionate about running cases where individuals rights have been impugned and over the years has acted for a very diverse range of clients from individuals to multi-national companies.
His biggest claim to fame is that he is one of the longest surviving heart transplant patients in the world. When not in the office he otherwise enjoys socialising, pilates, football, his garden and caring for his vast array of tropical fish. Most importantly his loves spending time with his immediate family including his partner, Annabel, and his two children, Jack and Rosie.

Lisa Ko
Solicitor
Lisa brings broad experience and a diverse background to her role at our firm. Born in Taiwan and educated in New Zealand with Science and Law degrees, Lisa is also fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese, which enhances her ability to serve a broad range of clients.
At KooTelle, Lisa focuses on conveyancing, estates & trusts, and relationship property matters and is our AML officer.

Shaun Lye
Solicitor
JShaun is a solicitor at KooTelle, having been admitted as a barrister and solicitor in March 2025. Shaun previously attended the University of Auckland, studying a Bachelor of Laws (Hons). During his time at University, Shaun found success in various mooting competitions, was involved as an editor in the Auckland University Law Review and has held multiple leadership positions in student cultural clubs. Prior to joining KooTelle, Shaun worked as a summer clerk in MinterEllisonRuddWatts, and as a law clerk for Arney Chambers. Shaun is interested in all areas of civil litigation, with a particular interest in trust law, contractual disputes and relationship property. You can typically find Shaun bouldering or running with his friends or enjoying his free time exploring the great outdoors.

Jenny Chai
Administrator
Jenny graduated from the University of Auckland with a bachelor of laws. She administers our trust and office accounts. She is conversant in Mandarin and Cantonese.
In her spare time, she enjoys nature walks and makes culinary delights for her family.

Jacqueline Tetley
Litigation PA
Jackie was born and raised in Auckland where she has lived most of her life. Jackie has also spent time in both Sydney and London. She has worked in both the public and private sectors for legal entities so has experience in many different areas of law. Jackie grew up sewing and has an extensive collection of vintage sewing patterns - occasionally she sews one up. Otherwise, free time is spent mucking around in the vegie garden or down at the beach.

Roxy
Human Resources Manager
Roxy is our human resources manager. She has been with us from the beginning. When she is not at Barkley Manor, you will often find her walking with staff and clients through he streets and parks of Grey Lynn and Ponsonby. She has been a very popular addition to the team, is supportive and a very good listener.
